Oh how I dearly love being a mum. The joy my daughter brings is unique and I enjoy the challenge when she enters a new phase of developement and we need a rethink. From crawling to weaning to potty training as difficult as it can be it is so much fun.
The latest challenge is the biggest one so far; we have entered a phase where every question is met with a 'No Way' and little feet running in the opposite direction. Every question gets the same reponse as if the mere thought of you making a suggestion is too much for her to bear. And then I am left frantically searching my mind for a reason she would want to do what I ask. I have found just recently if I leave her to think for a moment she often comes back and decides she wants what i have suggested anyway.
I love the fact she has no inhibitions; I want her to stay this way for ever, she doesn't think twice about pulling her potty out of the bag and using it in the middle of a garden centre. Today she was pointing out all the trees with unbridled excitement as we travelled together on the bus home.
To share this part of a persons life with them where everything is new and everything is exciting and to be the one to teach them and advise them.
Could there possibly be a greater privilage, a better way to invest your time or a more wonderful way to share your life and build a relationship?
Only one I know of.
